Ayurveda uses hot therapies in mobilizing roughage in the body, in opening metabolic pathways (Srotak), and improving the harmony between fluid balance and the Doshas. Heat therapies are part of the entire therapeutic program, at times as preparation for the Panchkarma treatments, other times as post-treatments to Panchakarma. Saunas of course can be used apart from Ayurvedic treatments, as European people are accustomed to using them.
